Preamble

Uttaran Protibandhi Unnayan Sangstha is an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) working in the Gaibandh district of Bangladesh. It was started by 36 people with disabilities with their own support. Now, the organization has 505 members, 305 male and 200 female. The organization implements its activities, ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities.

According to the organization's bylaws, the General Committee has 21 members, and the Executive Committee has 07 members. The organizational activities are implemented by the staff and volunteers following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and improve their lives with support from government and non-government organizations.

Besides, the organization strives for partnerships with mainstreaming organizations to ensure Disability Inclusion in their programs by ensuring the active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities and providing capacity-building and technical assistance.
